Cuba associates itself with the statement delivered by Pakistan on behalf of the Group of 77 and China, and wishes to deliver the following remarks in its national capacity.
I thank the President of the General Assembly for convening this informal interactive dialogue on commodity markets, in follow-up to the provisions laid down in General Assembly resolution 76/194.

It is an honor for us to host this meeting on the eve of the beginning of the United States-Cuba International Normalization Conference, which will hold its sessions tomorrow, Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20, at the main office of The People's Forum, organized by the Solidarity Movement with our country.

Allow me to begin by expressing the certainty of my delegation that 2022 will be another year of success in the valuable work of UN-Women. I would also like to express our full support to the new Executive Director, Ms. Sima Bahous, and to the Bureau of UN-Women’s Executive Board for 2022, led by Ambassador Rabab Fatima, from Bangladesh.

We take this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, Mr. Abdulla Shahid, on his election as President of the General Assembly at its seventy-sixth session, for which he can count on the full support of my delegation.
We take note of the Secretary-General’s report entitled “Our Common Agenda”, and his presentation at the plenary meeting on 10 September.

We thank the Executive Director for her comprehensive presentation, and the members of the Bureau and the Secretariat for the preparations for this session. I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to Ms. Fore for her service over the years at the helm of UNICEF in improving the lives of children around the world.
