THE DAY OF THE CUBAN NATIONAL CULTURE WAS CELEBRATED IN PAKISTAN WITH AN EXTENSIVE CULTURAL FESTIVAL
Islamabad, October 20, 2017. With the presence of Cuban cultural delegation formed by the Typical Oriental Quintet, two dancers, a chef, one cigar maker and a representative of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, was held on October 20 Cuban National Culture Day at the Marriot hotel in this capital. The gastronomic show musical- and in situ production of famous Habanos, widely reported by the Pakistani media, was chaired by the Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan and also attended Pakistani personalities, heads of accredited diplomatic missions, journalists, businessmen and friends of Cuba.
CUBA THANKS PAKISTAN FOR ITS TRADITIONAL SUPPORT FOR RESOLUTION AGAINST BLOCKADE
Islamabad, October 18, 2017. Additional Secretary for Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Shuja Alam, received the ambassador of Cuba, Gabriel Tiel Capote, at the Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, the ambassador thanked Pakistan for its traditional and valuable vote in favor of the Resolution presented each year at the UNGA to end the blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba. Both authorities reviewed the main issues of the positive relations between the two countries and the will to continue in the process of strengthening them.

Cuba and Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Disaster Risk Management
Islamabad, July 5, 2017. Lieutenant General Omar Mehmood Hayat, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Gabriel Tiel Capote, signed today in a simple ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Disaster Risk Management. The executing agency for implementation of the MoU in Pakistan is the NDMA and the General National Staff of the Civil Defense in Cuba.
