Namibia, July 16th, 2021- During the past few days, there were reports of widespread protests in Cuba. In some media they were presented as uprisings against the government of Cuba and parallels were even drawn to the protests in Eswatini against elite corruption and royal dictatorship. We wish to clarify the events in Cuba and place them into their political and socio-economic context.

These are the results of a plan designed by the United States Government to opportunistically exert the greatest possible pressure against Cuba.

Namibia, June 28th, 2021- The New Era, a Namibian newspaper, published in its digital and printed versions the article entitled "Cuban Vaccines: A triumph for Humanity". The article is co-authored by the second secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Namibia, Aldo Fuentes, and the journalist Vitalio Angula.
New York, June 23. The General Assembly of the United Nations approved with the favorable vote of 184 countries the Cuban Resolution entitled "The necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba."
Only the United States and Israel voted against, being isolated, as in the 28 previous occasions in which the resolution was approved.
Monrovia, June 21, 2021 - As a sign of the solidarity that unites them with the Cuban people, members of the Liberia-Cuba friendship group sent a statement condemning the economic and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba.
They underline in their letter that the blockade contradicts the basic principles of international dialogue and the tendencies towards the formation of a multipolar world, which should be based on the equality and sovereignty of the peoples.
Auckland. 19th of June. With the presence of the Cuban Ambassador, the friendship groups with Cuba held a public act and fundraising dinner as part of the international campaign against the blockade and in support of the purchase of syringes to combat COVID 19 on the island.
Organized by the Auckland Cuba Friendship Society, the event took place at the Auckland Trades Hall, with the presence of more than 30 national activists and
union leaders.
