Blackball, April 30. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés participated in the activities for International Labor Day held in this town on the South Island of New Zealand, which has a strong trade union tradition.
In the evening, the Ambassador made a presentation on the current international scenario and its implications for Latin America and Cuba in particular.
The participation of the Cuban Ambassadors in these celebrations is already a tradition.
Wellington, April 19. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés and First Secretary Dalila Vázquez met at the Embassy with Liz Remmerswaal, Vice President of "World Beyond War", who visited us with her husband.
We had an interesting exchange on the international situation and cooperation in defense of peace between Cuban and New Zealand organizations.
We established avenues for cooperation between ICAP and "World Beyond War", an organization dedicated to the search for peace.
Wellington, April 12. Ambassador Edgardo Valdes received at the Cuban residence the former Minister of Disarmament, Matt Robson, a good friend of Cuba and an active member of the solidarity movement.
They exchanged on the international situation and possible ways to strengthen the relationship between New Zealand and Cuba.
Namibia, January 1st, 2022- H.E. Dr. Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, called for the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, in his speech to the Namibian people for the end of the year 2021. In the same way, he called for the improvement of relations between the United States and Cuba.
Wellington, December 3. Friends of Cuba in Wellington attended a party at the Embassy to celebrate the return to normality after a year of great difficulties, in which there was no lack of support for the Revolution.
The Ambassador thanked those present, and through them all the friends who in New Zealand support our cause.
Representatives from unions, the Communist Party, cultural projects, and academic institutions shared ideas and a pleasant evening with lots of music and dancing.
Wellington, November 27. To pay tribute to Fidel on the 5th Anniversary of his death, we invited the youngest generation of friends from Cuba to climb Mount Kau Kau in this city.
After the effort made, the children and adolescents who accompanied us better understood the magnitude of the feat carried out by the Rebel Army.
We talked to them about the Granma expedition, Alegría de Pío, the struggle in the Sierra, and the victory of January 1.
It was a very pleasant and enriching experience for all of us, at a time when Fidel's ideas continue to guide us.
