Visit of young Cuban professionals ends successfully.

Auckland, August 5. Young Cuban professionals Marianniz Díaz (immunologist) and Iván Barreto (ICAP official) successfully completed their visit to New Zealand.

On August 3, they visited the Waipareira Trust, the offices of the Foreign Ministry in Auckland, and the University of Auckland, where they spoke at the World Affairs Forum on Medical Research in Cuba and the US blockade.

Young Cubans visit New Zealand.

Auckland, August 1. At the invitation of Cuba solidarity groups in New Zealand, two young Cubans will visit Auckland from August 2-5.

Marianniz Díaz, a scientist at the Center for Molecular Immunology, and Ivan Barreto, an official at the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples will carry out an extensive program of meetings and public events that include contacts with unions, scientists, academics, solidarity groups and officials from the local Foreign Ministry.

Celebration of National Rebellion Day at the Embassy.

Wellington, July 24. To celebrate National Rebellion Day, a night of Cuban cinema and a meeting with friends of Cuba took place at the Embassy, ​​with the participation of all Cuban personnel.

Ambassador Edgardo Valdés made a brief presentation on the history and importance of July 26 and the film "Ciudad en Rojo", about the insurrectionary struggle in Santiago de Cuba, was shown.

Later, union leaders, young people from the Communist Party, social workers, artists, and friends in general shared ideas about the film, the Cuban Revolution, and the international situation.

Representatives of the Nigerian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba visit the Cuban diplomatic mission.

Nigeria, June 21st, 2023.- Representatives of the Nigerian Solidarity Movement with Cuba were received at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission by Miriam Morales Palmero, Cuba's designated ambassador to Nigeria.

At the meeting, comrades Abiodun Aremu and the journalist Owei Lakemfa, coordinator and member of the Solidarity Platform with Cuba, respectively, highlighted the ties of love and solidarity that unite them with the Cuban people.

Former Disarmament Minister Matt Robson visits the Cuban Embassy.

Wellington, March 28. Former Disarmament Minister Matt Robson, an active member of solidarity with Cuba in New Zealand, visited the Cuban headquarters.

Robson shared his experiences on his recent trip to Cuba to participate in the event "For the Balance of the World" and spoke with the Ambassador about the impact of United States policy on the Cuban population.

Both commented on the international situation and future solidarity actions in favor of the right of Cubans to self-determination.

 

Cuban diplomats participate in a public event for women's rights.

Wellington, March 5. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés and Consul Dalila Vázquez participated together with activists and union leaders in a public meeting against violence and discrimination for any reason, and in favor of women's rights.

In his speech, the Ambassador highlighted Cuba's achievements in this area and the challenges that still lie ahead.

Similar events were held simultaneously this Sunday in various cities in New Zealand.

 

Ambassador of Cuba participates in an exchange with the board of the Stockholm branch of the AASC.

In the context of the annual meeting of the Stockholm branch of the Swedish-Cuban Friendship Association (AASC), the Ambassador of Cuba, Alba Soto Pimentel, held an exchange with the participants.

The occasion was propitious to provide information on Cuban and the challenges the Island face. In her speech, she referred to the tightening of the blockade against Cuba and its consequences, including the application of Title III of the Helms Burton Act. Finally, she thanked the permanent complaint that solidarity friends make of the blockade.
