Wellington, July 26- Convened by the New Zealand-Cuba Friendship Society, a protest was held in Wellington on July 26 before the United States Embassy, in which participated members of the Society, union leaders, communist activists and other friends of Cuba.
The protesters demanded an end to the blockade against Cuba and asked the New Zealand government to take a more active position in this regard, beyond supporting each year our resolution at the United Nations. There were also signs of solidarity with Venezuela.
Auckland, July 25
Organized by the Auckland group of the New Zealand-Cuba Friendship Society, in coordination with the Cuban Embassy, on Saturday, July 25, the photographic exhibition "Cuba through kiwi eyes" was inaugurated at the Ellen Melville Center of that city. Next, a public meeting was held, in which the Ambassador and the First Secretary, Dalila Vázquez, thanked the solidarity towards the island and updated those present on the situation in Cuba and the effects of the blockade.
Wellington, July 22- The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés, received in his residence the envoy of King Maori, Tuheitia Potatau Te Wherowhero VII, his eldest son Ariki Tamaroa Whatumoana Teaa.
He was accompanied by the King's Chief of Staff and other Maori personalities. On the Cuban side, Dalila Vázquez, First Secretary and Consul also participated.
On Saturday July 25 at 3:30 pm at the Ellen Meville Center, 2 Freyberg Place, Auckland, we will open the photo exhibition "Cuba through the eyes of the kiwis". At 4:00 pm we will have a public meeting to celebrate the Day of National Rebellion, show solidarity with Cuban medical cooperation in more than 60 countries and condemn the increasing US sanctions against the Cuban people.
The Namibia-Cuba Friendship Association (NAMCUFA) has learned with great concern about the reported intention of the Government of the United States to include Cuba on a United States Department of State list that designates certain States as sponsors of terrorism. NAMCUFA strongly condemns Cuba's planned inclusion in the US list of states that sponsor terrorism and all manifestations of terrorism.
