Ottawa, September 28, 2017. The book Cuba-U.S. Relations: Obama and Beyond, by Canadian author and researcher Arnold August, was launched Wednesday evening at Octopus bookstore in downtown Ottawa.
Cuban President received Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, on Monday afternoon, who is in Cuba on a work visit.
During the fraternal meeting the two leaders exchanged on the excellent progress of bilateral relations and welcomed the recent commemoration of the 25th anniversary of their establishment. Prime Minister Gonsalves ratified his solidarity with the Cuban Revolution before the new policy of the Government of the United States towards the Island.
The Cuban Ambassador Vilma Reyes Valdespino welcomed the distinguished journalist and social activist Renwick Rose, President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines - Cuba Friendship Association.
With his eyes and heart on the pulse of the Cuban-Vincentian nexuses, Renwick has made his permanent column in the newspaper "Searchlight" a platform of solidarity with Cuba and a bastion of the struggle for progress, sovereignty, Social justice and Latin American and Caribbean unity.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines/Cuba friendship Society joins with the rest of the international community in mourning the loss of the incomparable Commandante Fidel Castro Ruz, and with progressive mankind in paying tribute to his tremendous contribution to the development of his country, Cuba, the Caribbean, and countries too numerous to mention in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The ambassador of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was received by Ms. Claire Keizer, Director of the vincentian newspaper "Searchlight", at the headquarters of that organ of the national press
During the friendly meeting the Cuban diplomat gave an update on major developments of the Cuban reality and on a bilateral level.
In the framework of the activity, organized by the Embassy of Cuba, to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the victory of Giron, the Friendship Association of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines-Cuba, issued a statement in which, referring to the epic of Giron, points out that, in what has perhaps been the greatest rejection of an invading force in the Western Hemisphere during the 20th century, the young Cuban revolutionaries, who had taken power, just two years earlier, mobilized and led the people to definitely defeat the invading force.
