Monrovia, August 6, 2022 - The Liberia-Cuba Solidarity group, with great sadness, sends a message of solidarity support to the Cuban people for the large-scale fire caused on August 5 by a lightning strike that hit the 52 crude oil storage tank at the Matanzas Supertanker Base.
Monrovia, July 9, 2022.- July 11 marks the first anniversary of the victory of the Cuban people against the most recent attempt by the enemies of the Revolution and those who allow themselves to be dragged along by malicious appeals to alter the peace and tranquility of the island of Cuba, so necessary to defeat the effects of the criminal U.S. blockade and advance on the path of building a more just, sustainable, prosperous and participatory society.
Monrovia, June 25, 2022 - Once again, the Liberia-Cuba friendship group raised its voice in repudiation of the US aggressions against the people and government of Cuba which have lasted for more than 60 years, and rejected the actions which, as part of the political, economic and financial war of the blockade, seek to encourage popular discontent and generate mobilizations against the social system chosen by the Caribbean nation.
Dublin, Saturday June 11, 2022. Participants in the launch of the book entitled “International Brigade against Apartheid. Secrets of the people's war that liberated South Africa”, held at the “Liberty Hall” theater in this capital, expressed their admiration and respect for the decisive role played by Cuba in the liberation of the African continent, particularly in the fight against disgraceful regime of Apartheid.
The prominent Cuban musician Ignacio "Nachito" Herrera traveled to the island from Minnesota, United States, where he has lived for more than 20 years, to open the 2022 edition of the Cubadisco Fair, however, his first words to the press are not about music :
"I must honestly say that, although you know that I live quite far away, in a very cold state, in Minnesota, we have been able to follow all the news, we are happy to return home, but also saddened by what has happened with the Hotel Saratoga ".
The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, posted a message on Twitter lamentingthe death of the tireless Argentine social activist Alicia Jrapko, who devoted her life to the struggle to win justice for her disappeared comrades in her native country, the return of Elián to Cuba, the release of the Cuban Five and an end to the blockade.
Díaz-Canel concluded his note with an “Hasta siempre, hermana,” indicating that the country’s “sister” would never be forgotten.
Monrovia, January 6, 2022.- It was a great honor for the Cuban Embassy in Liberia to receive the visit of the President of the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association Mr. Kesselee King Kanneh.
The occasion was an opportunity to exchange on current issues of interest, recent actions in support of Cuba and future plans of the friendship group.
Monrovia, June 1, 2021 - With the title "Cuba sends a message of peace against the US embargo", the Liberia News newspaper in its digital version publishes an article based on a cable from the XINHUA news agency on the development, in Cuba and other countries from different continents, of the Caravan against the US blockade.
Islamabad, May 28th, 2021._ The exchange held today by Ambassador Zéner J. Caro with a representation of Pakistani children and youth at the Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad turned into an emotional act of solidarity with Cuba and condemnation of the US blockade. The Friends of Cuba network convened the meeting on the fifteenth anniversary of the conclusion of the Henry Reeve Brigade's support mission after the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.
Islamabad, 1 May 2021. Ramzan Mughal, President of the Pakistan-Cuba Social Forum, ratified his country's solidarity and firm rejection of the US blockade, while speaking on the panel of the Virtual Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba organised by the Cuban Workers' Central and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).
"In these times of hardship and health crisis, the blockade and all sanctions against Cuba must be lifted," said Mughal in his remarks, which have been reproduced by several local media on this International Workers' Day.
