Pretoria, April 28, 2020.- The Friends of Cuba SA (FOCUS) welcomes the CubanInternationalist Health Brigade to South Africa. Today, theCuban commitment to international solidarity in health careis once again demonstrated.
At a time when so many nations are looking inward in the fight against COVID-19,
Cuba is sharing its health personnelwith the world, including our country. Since April this year,Cuba has sent medical personnel to fight COVID-19 to over 15 countries - from Angola to Italy and Andorra - and thenumber continues to grow.

ANCYL Western Cape welcomes arrival of Cuban doctors to our shores on Freedom Day

Pretoria, 27 April 2020.- The ANC Youth League in the Western Cape welcomes the arrival of more than 200 Cuban doctors into our country to join us in another heroic and selfless struggle: helping to curb the spread of Covid-19.
We believe it is an important symbol that Cuba, who sent combatants to Angola to help defeat the South African Defense Force and thereby open the final stretch of the road to liberation, should have touched  down in South Africa on Freedom Day.

Press Release: Arrival of a Cuban Medical Brigade to South Africa to assist in the efforts against COVID-19

Pretoria, April 25, 2020.- In response to the request made by the government of the Republic of South Africa, the government of Cuba has decided to support the great efforts that are currently made by South Africa in containing and arresting the spread of the coronavirus.

A specialized Cuban Medical Brigade will be arriving at O.R.Tambo International Airport on Sunday 26 April 2020 at 23:59 hrs, in a special flight of South African Airways.

A donation from South Africa to assist in the fight against COVID19 was sent to Cuba

Pretoria, April 23, 2020.- Today, a special flight of South African Airways was loaded, with a valuable donation from South Africa to assist the fight against COVID-19 in Cuba, as part of the close cooperation and solidarity between the two countries.
The donation includes protection gear, materials and supplies for Cuban health facilities.
