Press release on the 16th Session of the Joint Consultative Mechanism between South Africa and Cuba
Pretoria, July 25, 2022.- The 16th Meeting of the Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) between the Foreign Ministries of Cuba and South Africa was held on July 21 in Havana, Cuba. The delegations of the two countries were headed by H.E. Mr. Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba and H.E. Mr. Alvin Botes.
Cuba and South Africa sign Governmental Agreement on cooperation in animal and plant health
Pretoria, July 21, 2022.- The Minister of Agriculture, Agrarian Reform and Rural Development of South Africa, Mrs. Angela Thokozile Didiza and the Ambassador of Cuba in South Africa, Enrique Orta González, signed today an Intergovernmental Agreement for cooperation in matters of Animal and Plant Health between both countries.

Pretoria, July 1st, 2022.- Like all countries, Cuba is going through a difficult economic situation influenced by the global crisis, the prices of fuel, food and transportation, in addition to the effects of more than 2 years of pandemic. The attempts to establish opinion in the media that Cuba is facing a massive humanitarian crisis are unfound. Falsehoods, fictitious legends and their propagation in the media are used to internationally generate the image of a country socially unstable and in political crisis.
43 years of fruitful bilateral relations between Cuba and Lesotho
Pretoria, June 14, 2022.- Cuba and Lesotho today celebrate the 43rd anniversary of their bilateral diplomatic relations, established on June 14, 1979. Throughout these 43 years, the two nations have paved productive relations, based on friendship, cooperation and solidarity.
The permanent exchange of first-level visits and the important cooperation agreements in force are expression of the good state of these relations.
