Cuban ambassador visited the Coconut Research Institute in Sri Lanka

Colombo, September 5, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, visited the Coconut Research Institute in Sri Lanka where he was received by its Chairman , Mr. Arosha Rodrigo, the director, Dr. N. S. Arachchige and the rest of its board of directors. Also present was Maribel Duarte González, first secretary of the Cuban embassy.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Coconut Research Institute in Sri Lanka and the Cuban Agroforestry Research Institute.

Colombo, September 3, 2024. At the Cuban Embassy in Colombo, Ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido held a meeting with Doctors of Science, Mahesh Premarathne, Vice Chairman  and Shamal Fernando, General Manager, of Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation with Cuban institutions in the fields of biotechnology and pharmacology.
Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd is a renowned pharmaceutical distributor in Sri Lanka offering premium generic drugs, nutraceuticals, surgical and medical instruments (diagnostics) and cosmetics.

Colombo, August 27, 2024. At the headquarters of the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry, Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido was received by Dayani Mendis, Director General of the United Nations and Human Rights of the Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, they referred to the reciprocal support in international forums and organizations of the United Nations.

Colombo, August 23, 2024. At Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry, H.E. Ali Sabry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, who delivered him a congratulatory letter from his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In the letter, the Cuban foreign minister reiterated his unwavering willingness to continue working to strengthen the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Sri Lanka.
