Ambassador of Cuba participated in farewell activity for the ambassador of Vietnam, organized by the Communist Party in Sri Lanka
Colombo, June 5. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka Andrés Marcelo González Garrido was invited to a farewell activity for the ambassador of Vietnam, Truc Ho Thi Thanh, for the end of her mission, organized by the Communist Party.
They participated in the friendly meeting D.E.W. Gunasekara, Leader of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka (CSLP), Dr. G. Weerasinghe General Secretary, Weerasumana Weerasinghe, MP for the PCSL, Wilfred Jayasinghe, Secretary of International Relations and other members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

Statement of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka: Cuba must be removed from the US State Department's unacceptable list of "State Sponsors of Terrorism
For many decades now, the people of Cuba have been suffering the grave consequences of the US economic blockade, which has severely hampered Cuba's economic development and prevented the needs of the Cuban people from being met. In recent years, US administrations have further tightened measures against Cuba with actions such as the reinstatement of Cuba on the US State Department's "State Sponsors of Terrorism" list, which was made by the Donald Trump administration and is currently maintained by the Joe Biden administration.

Wimal Weerawansa, Member of Parliament of Sri Lanka and leader of the political party, National Freedom Front, (NFF) published on his Meta page (formerly Facebook) a statement calling on the government of United States to remove Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism.
