The Sri Lanka –Cuba Parliamentarian Friendship Association asks the United States government to remove Cuba from the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
This is an absurd and an arbitrary measure that has been criticized and demanded by numerous governments, political, religious and mass organizations in many countries around the world.

Colombo. May 21, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka Andrés Marcelo González Garrido signed the book of condolences at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo, on which occasion he expressed to the Iranian ambassador Dr. Alireza Delkhosh his condolences for the death of the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisí, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdolahian, and other passengers after the helicopter accident in which they were traveling and which on Sunday was forced to make an emergency landing in the northwest of the country.

Colombo, May 20, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido visited the headquarters of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and held a meeting with its president, Duminda Hulangamuwa. The diplomat delivered a letter of invitation from the president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce Antonio Carricarte Corona to participate in the 40th Havana International Fair (FIHAV) and the call for this important commercial event, one of the most prestigious of its kind in Latin America and the Caribbean,  which will take place from November 4 to 9, 2024, in Havana, Cuba.

Meeting at the embassy in Sri Lanka with a student selected to study Medicine in Cuba

Colombo, May 18, 2024. At the headquarters of the Cuban embassy in Sri Lanka, a meeting was held with the young sri Lankan student Halneththi Dushani Gunarathne, who was received by the Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido.
Dushani was selected to study Medicine in Cuba, as part of a scholarship process that Cuba offers to Sri Lanka for young people from the country to pursue their university studies in Cuba. Sri Lanka has nearly one hundred graduates from Cuban institutions and currently six students are at the Latin American School of Medicine – ELAM.
