Ambassador of Cuba and Minister of Health of Maldives exchanged about bilateral issues
Malé, May 7, 2024. The Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido exchanged with the Minister of Health of the Maldives, Abdullah Khaleel, about the medical cooperation that the Caribbean island provides to this South Asian island republic.
The diplomat also referred to the different types of collaboration that Cuba maintains and develops with various countries around the world.
President of the Parliament of Maldives received the Cuban ambassador
Malé, May 6, 2024. The President of the Parliament of Maldives, Mohamed Aslam, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, at the headquarters of the People's Majlis, in the city of Malé.
During the meeting, they exchanged bilateral and friendly relations between the two countries in order to expand cooperation.
The People's Majlis of Maldives is the unicameral legislative body of the Republic of Maldives. The Majlis has the authority to promulgate, amend and revise the laws of the country.
Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka participated in Hindu-Sinhala New Year 2024
Colombo, April 27, 2024. The Ambassador of Cuba in Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido and the first secretary Maribel Duarte González participated in the annual traditional Sri Lankan celebration, “Wasath Siriya (Splendid Spring), which is part of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivities in the month of April.
This event highlights the rich culture and heritage of Sri Lanka, its customs, music and dances.

We applaud the initiative of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations to organize this significant event.
We welcome the establishment of April 24th as the "International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace," noting that this date has a special significance as it coincides with the conclusion of the 1955 Asian-African Conference, which led to the promulgation of the Bandung Principles.
