Cuba and Sri Lanka evaluate possibilities of cooperation in the field of Science and Technology

Colombo, May 30, 2024. At the Cuban embassy in Sri Lanka, a meeting was held between the ambassador, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, with the additional secretary for Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Education, in charge of the Science and Technology, Rojhita Uduwawala.
During the meeting, the ambassador presented the results of scientific development in Cuba, in different spheres of science, technology and innovation, as well as the existence of several institutions dedicated to scientific research with important achievements and recognitions.

The People’s Liberation Front -Srilanka expresses its deep concern over the persistent designation of the Republic of Cuba on the United States State Department's State Sponsor of Terrorism List (SSOT). This list identifies and includes governments that are purportedly engaged in providing active support to violent non-state actors involved in terrorist activities. JVP finds this classification by the United States as arbitrary and unfounded.

The Ministers of Health of Cuba, José Ángel Portal Miranda, and of the Maldives, Abdulla Khaleel, held a bilateral meeting within the framework of the 77th World Health Assembly, which will be held from this Monday, the 27th. May in Geneva (Switzerland) and will run until June 1, 2024.
