SRI LANKA, January 30, 2017. - The Honorable Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka received the Cuban Ambassador, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the headquarter of this body. During the meeting, the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries were highlighted, as well as expressing interest in continuing to strengthen relations between the parliaments of Cuba and Sri Lanka.

Minister of Science, Technology and Research of Sri Lanka receives Ambassador of Cuba

Sri Lanka, January 24, 2017. - The Honorable Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Science, Technology and Research of Sri Lanka received the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the Ministry's headquarters, where they exchanged views on the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the sector of science. The Minister also expressed his satisfaction with the visit made to Cuba last year, when he signed a Memorandum for bilateral cooperation with his Cuban counterpart.

58th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution at the Embassy of Cuba in Sri Lanka

SRI LANKA, January 7, 2017. - Friends of Cuba celebrated at the Cuban Embassy the 58th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution with joy and optimism, the immense work created by all the Cuban people.

On behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka, the Honorable Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Science and Technology, highlighted the historic ties of friendship between both countries, as well as their respect and admiration for the work carried out by the leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Gathering at the Presidential House of Sri Lanka in tribute to Fidel

SRI LANKA, December 2, 2016. - Convened by the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, a solemn gathering took place at the headquarters of the Presidential House, in homage to the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

In his statement, the President highlighted the revolutionary trajectory of Fidel, his firmness in the fight against imperialism and in favor of just causes. He said that since he was young he had admired him and remembered his visit to Cuba in 1978, on the occasion of the Festival of Youth and Students.
