Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Saint Vincent receives Cuban Ambassador.
Kingstown, April 29 2024 - The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, H.E. Mrs. Sandy Peters-Phillips, welcome the Ambassador of Cuba to this nation, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry.
During the exchange, Rodríguez Etcheverry highlighted the excellent relations of brotherhood and solidarity that have always existed between both peoples and governments and praised the work carried out by Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as president pro tempore of CELAC.
The Permanent Secretary referred to the historic ties in the field of collaboration in the areas of health, education, sport and construction, as well as the positive level of consultation that has distinguished bilateral ties in the multilateral arena
Cuban residents and collaborators visit Simon Bolivar training vessel.
Kingstown - 28 April 2024. Members of the Cuban community of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Cuban health and construction collaborators that wirk in this sister nation visited the "Simon Bolivar" training vessel.
The Cubans made a tour of all areas of the ship and received detailed explanations about the history and mission of this beautiful ship, which will soon leave the Vicentian shores to continue its journey through other ports in the region, among them that of Santiago de Cuba.
The training vessel "Simón Bolívar" is the flagship of the Bolivarian Navy of Venezuela.
Cuba participates in the International Dance Day Festival.
Kingstown, Saturday, April 27, 2024. A dance festival on the ocassion of the International Dance Day took place last Saturday at the Botanical Garden of Kingstown, capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, where more than 10 dance performances from 4 countries were exhibited.
Cuba presented a 6-couple "Rueda de Casino" or "Salsa Round Dance", formed by members of the Cuban community, health and construction collaborators and members of the Embassy, who wore t-shirts with the logo of the "Live Better: End the Embargo" campaign and danced the well-known theme "They call me Cuba", by Alexander Abreu and Havana de Primera.
Cuban ambassador visits headquarters of the SVG Broadcasting Corporation.
Kingstown, April 23, 2024. - The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, visited this morning the headquarters of the Saint Vincent and the Granadines Broadcasting Corporation (SVGBC), the oldest private radio and Television Company in this Caribbean nation.
The Cuban diplomat made a tour of the entity’s facilities and was received by its executive director, Mr. Paul McLeish, with whom he had a lively exchange.
SVGBC began broadcasting about 45 years ago in Vincentian territory.
Minister of Health and Ambassador of Cuba hold work meeting.
Kingstown, April 22, 2024. - The Minister of Health, Welfare and Environment, The Honourable St. Clair Prince, received this morning the Cuban Ambassador, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, meeting in which both parties discussed issues on the bilateral agenda.
The minister thanked Cuba for its historic contribution to the development of medicine and the welfare of the Vincentian people, while noting that all the conditions are in place to increase cooperation in this important sector, where there has been a strong collaboration for 3 decades.
There are currently 85 Cuban health professionals working in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, one of the largest medical brigades in the Caribbean.
