Cuban Ambassador pays courtesy call to SVG Attorney General.

 

Kingstown, May 30, 2024. - The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, visited the headquarters of the Office of the Attorney General of this nation and was received by the Attorney General of Legal Affairs and Member of Parliament, Honourable Mr. Grenville Williams.

The meeting was an opportunity to address issues of bilateral, regional and international interest and to make vows for the strengthening of relations and cooperation between the two peoples.

Mr. Williams has been in office since November 2022.

Director of NEMO - SVG receives Ambassador of Cuba

Kingstown, May 29, 2024. - The director of the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines received the Cuban Ambassador to this country, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry.

During the meeting, the Ambassador showed interest in the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines experiences in managing and facing natural disasters and emergencies and also shared some experiences of Cuba in this regard.

The director explained about the main risks faced by Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in recent years, with particular emphasis on the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano in April 2021 and the measures taken to mitigate the effects and preserve human lives. He also referred to the measures implemented to address the effects of the current drought and the country’s preparation for the start of the coming hurricane season.

On May 28, the Government of the United States finally announced a group of measures aimed at implementing the policy announced on May 16, 2022.

The purpose of this step, according to the text published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), is to support the private sector in Cuba.

Cuba-St. Vincent and the Grenadines Friendship Society demands Cuba to be removed from the list of countries sponsoring Terrorism.

Kingstown, May 27, 2024. The Cuba-St. Vincent and the Grenadines Friendship Society published today a statement demanding the immediate withdrawal of Cuba from the United States government’s spurious list of countries that allegedly sponsor Terrorism.

The text rejects, in the strongest terms, Washington’s aggressive policy towards Cuba and calls for respect for the sovereignty of the Island, while demanding the unconditional lifting of the blockade.

The Solidarity Association further reaffirmed its unconditional support for the Cuban Revolution and stressed the role of Cuba in promoting international solidarity and cooperation, of which Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has benefited in various areas of social and economic life

Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines assess possibilities of cooperation in water management.

Kingstown, May 24, 2024. - The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, visited the headquarters of the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) this morning and was received by Mr. Winsbert Quow, Director General of the institution.

The meeting was favorable to addressing issues of common interest and to analyzing the possibilities of collaboration in water management. The Ambassador inquired about the current situation of drought that affects the entire national territory and received an update on the measures deployed to face it.

CWSA was founded in 1970 and its main mission is to provide affordable water, sewerage and solid waste services throughout Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
