Cuba remembers victory over mercenary invasion in 1961

Havana, April 19 (Prensa Latina) With the victory of the mercenary invasion of Playa Girón, on a day like today, April 19, 1961, Cuba demonstrated to the world its willingness to defend with arms the revolutionary process begun on April 1. January 1959.

After tough fighting after the landing three days before of some 1,500 mercenaries in that area of the Zapata Swamp, in the western province of Matanzas, the forces of the Rebel Army, the National Revolutionary Police and the popular militias defeated the invaders.

63 years of Victories; Commemoration in Sweden of the first defeat of Yankee Imperialism in Bay of Pig .

Stockholm, April 19.- On the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Playa Girón Victory, supportive friends and Cuban residents met at the Casa de la Solidaridad to commemorate together one of the most relevant events in the history of Cuba.

Yohanna Cordero, II Secretary of the Cuban Embassy, highlighted the courage and strength of the Cuban people, the main protagonist of those events and who, guided by Fidel, defeated the enemy in less than 72 hours.

The Solidarity Network with Latin America and the Caribbean RESOCAL expresses its tribute to the 63rd Anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón in Cuba, sovereign and independent, in the face of the military invasion organized and executed by the North American government and its operators from the Pentagon and the CIA, to install a counterrevolutionary regime that is subservient to their imperialist interests.

Cuba and the United States hold immigration talks in Washington DC

Washington, April 16, 2024 - On April 16, 2024, representatives of Cuba and the United States held bilateral migration talks in Washington DC. 

Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío Domínguez headed the Cuban delegation and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the State Department's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs Eric Jacobstein led the U.S. delegation.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the implementation of the bilateral Migration Agreements, whose texts set forth the mutual commitment to guarantee regular, safe and orderly migration.

Cuba calls for peace in the Middle East- Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Havana, April 14, 2024- Cuba warns of the dangers posed by the impunity with which Israel, with the complicity and support of the United States government, has acted against countries in the Middle East. The illegal attack on the consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, in flagrant violation of international law and the 1961 Vienna Convention, has endangered international peace and security, leading to a possible regionalization of the conflict with unpredictable consequences for world peace.
