Cuban Ambassador attends the foreign policy debate in the Swedish Parliament
Stockholm, February 14, 2024 - Invited by the Swedish parliamentary authorities, the Ambassador of Cuba, Alba Soto Pimentel, along with other members of the diplomatic corps, attended to the presentation of the Foreign Policy Declaration made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tobías Billström to the Foreign Affairs Committee and other parliamentarians, at the headquarters of the Riksdag.

GENEVA (February 8, 2024) - UN experts* today urged the United States to review its national framework that triggers targeted sanctions against designated State Sponsors of Terrorism (SST).
Currently, four countries - the Republic of Cuba, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic - appear on this list of the US State Department, which are imposed additional restrictions as a result of the designation.
Cuba advocates the abolition of US military bases
The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and the World Peace Council call for the VIII International Seminar on Peace and for the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases to be held on May 4 and 5 in Guantánamo. Cuba rejects the existence of more than 800 military bases and facilities that the United States owns with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) around the world, of which 70 are located in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
