Statement by the permanent representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, at the explanation of vote on the draft resolution regarding the suspension of rights of membership of the Russian Federation in the Human Right

Mr. President;
Cuba has always championed and worked for a Human Rights Council capable of coping with the complex challenges the international community faces in this area, from which no country escapes.
We defend objectivity, impartiality and transparency in the work of that body, and that its procedures and mechanisms are implemented on the basis of accurate and verified information.
Thailand and Cuba renew vows for multilateralism and International Law
Bangkok, March 14, 2022. - The Cuban ambassador to Thailand, Héctor Conde, was received at the Foreign Ministry by Ek-On Khunacharoen, deputy director general of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand to exchange on the outcomes of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
At the cordial meeting both sides reaffirmed the importance of joint efforts in defense of multilateralism, international law and the Charter of the United Nations in the various multilateral forums.
Thailand and Cuba strengthen ties in the tourism sector
The Cuban ambassador to Thailand, Héctor Conde Almeida, received at the headquarters of the Cuban mission Mr. Ratchaporn Poolsawadee, President of the Koh Samui Tourism Association, one of the most important tourist areas in Thailand with high interest in its population for Cuba.
In the fruitful exchange, ways were analyzed to increase the tourist exchange between two countries with rich traditions, history, culture and varied tourist resources.
The international community supports Cuba in the battle against the US unilateral economic blockade

In the cordial meeting, topics of interest on bilateral and multilateral relations were addressed, as well as the debates of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Both sides agreed on the importance of defending multilateralism in the current global context.

United States’ and NATO’s military moves towards regions adjacent to the Russian Federation in recent months, preceded by the delivery of modern weapons to Ukraine, which together conform a military siege, are well known.
