Leaders at UN demand end to the US blockade on Cuba
United Nations, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) The demand for an end to the US blockade against Cuba was voiced by representatives from all over the world, during speeches at the general debate of the 74th session of the General Assembly, which continues this Friday.
Suriname's President Ashwin Adhin said on Thursday that his country strongly disapproves of 'the economic, financial and commercial blockade of more than 50 years against the Republic of Cuba and its people.'
Commemoration in Thailand on the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons
BANGKOK, September 25, 2019.- The Cuban ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Héctor Conde Almeida, gave a lecture at the “Chulalongkorn University” in commemoration of September 26th as International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, designated by the United Nations Organization (UN) in 2013. The presentation was attended by students of the Spanish Section of the Faculty of Arts and the Center of Latin American Studies of the University, authorities and professors of the prestigious institution.
Cuban foreign minister: slander and little substance in Trump's words
United Nations, (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez said today there was a lot of slander and little substance in the speech of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, before the UN General Assembly.
They were statements full of threats to the countries of the south, particularly to our America, and what I hear among the delegations at the UN is that it was full of falsehoods and generated rejection and mocks, Rodríguez told Telesur and Prensa Latina.
Cuba Denounces Multi-Million Damages Caused by US Blockade
Havana, Sep 20 (Prensa Latina) The US blockade on Cuba, imposed for almost 60 years, has caused losses to the island of over 138.843 billion dollars at current prices, an official source denounced on Thursday.
From April 2018 to March 2019, Washington's economic war against the island caused damages amounting to 4.343 billion dollars, highlighted Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca in a tweet.
'Just how much more could we do if they let us be?' the minister stressed.
