151 years of October 10, 1868 - founding event of the National Liberation Revolution of #Cuba

On October 10, 1868, the patriot lawyer Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (1819-1874) freed his slaves and took the Cubans into arms, the first founding event of the #Cuba National Liberation Revolution.

The ringing of the bell of his sugar-cane factory "La Demajagua", Manzanillo, in the east of the country, meant 151 years ago a triumph of the independence ideas, against the Hispanic fundamentalism and the reformist and annexation movements.

In the words of Céspedes that day: "The soldier of duty must not allow the aurora to surprise him in his bed."

Che Guevara was wounded and captured in an ambush by the Bolivian army on October 8, 1967. The next day he was executed in cold blood, on instructions from Washington. When this news was confirmed, on October 18, a solemn evening in memory of Che, in "Plaza de la Revolución", Havana, was attended by a million people. There, Fidel Castro pronounced a historic speech.

During the ceremony, the Special Envoy highlighted the positive impact of the establishment of this diplomatic headquarters for the development and strengthening of bilateral relations.
