Spain Predicts EU Disputes with U.S. Over Sanctions Against Cuba #NoToTheCriminalHelmsBurtonAct
Madrid, Apr 23 (Prensa Latina) Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borrell predicted today numerous disputes between Europe and the United States, following the latter's decision to intensify economic sanctions against Cuba.
Borrell spoke in those terms before attending a conference on relations between the European Union (EU) and Washington, scheduled for Tuesday at the Casa de América in Madrid.
Diaz-Canel: Many in U.S. are advocating learning from Cold War Failure
Havana, April 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on Saturday that many in the United States are advocating learning from the failure of the Cold War, alluding to Washington''s escalation of hostility against the island.
On Twitter, the president -who turns 59 this Saturday- also warned that in the northern nation itself the anti-Cuban measures of the current administration, which this week decided to activate the controversial Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, an initiative in force since 1996 to promote regime change in Cuba, are causing concern.
#Cuba Proclaimed Its New Constitution
Havana, Apr 10 (Prensa Latina) The new Constitution of the Republic of Cuba was proclaimed in Havana on Wednesday in a solemn session of Parliament, after a speech pronounced by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Raul Castro.
The leader pointed out at the Convention Center and before almost 600 MPs that once the Magna Carta is proclaimed, it will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic for its entry into force.
Cordial #GRULAC meeting in Bangkok, #Thailand
Useful meeting at the Bangkok Club of the Ambassadors of the member countries of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) with diplomatic representation in the Kingdom of Thailand. The meeting was headed by the Dean of the group, H.E. Ambassador of Panama María del Carmen Martínez Arosemena.
The activities developed by the group in 2018 and the projection for 2019 were discussed. We exchanged views on regional topics and the state of relations of our Latin American and Caribbean region with Thailand and ASEAN.
