New Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations in New York presents credentials

New York, 16 October 2020.  The new Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, presented his credentials in a virtual ceremony due to the conditions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic on the UN Headquarters.

Pedroso Cuesta is a graduate of the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations (1987) and holds a Master´s Degree in National Defense.

Cuba denounces the tightening of the US blockade at the dialogue with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

New York, 14 October 2020. Cuba participated today in the Interactive Dialogue with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, where it expressed its concern about the imposition of punitive approaches, selective practices and double standards against countries of the South, contrary to UNGA resolution 48/141, which emphasizes the need for the promotion and protection of all human rights to be guided by the principles of impartiality, objectivity and non-selectivity, in the spirit of dialogue and cooperation.
