New York, 26 October 2020. Miguel M. Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic of Cuba, participated today in the opening ceremony of the thirty-eighth session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), virtually held from today to 28 October.
Cuba held ECLAC´s presidency since May 2018 up to date, when it was passed to Costa Rica. The island is a founding member of ECLAC since its establishment in 1948.
ECLAC´s political declaration calls upon the elimination of any unilateral economic, financial or commercial measure

During the opening ceremony of the thirty-eighth session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), virtually held from today to 28 October, the Political Declaration on a sustainable, inclusive and resilient recovery in Latin America and the Caribbean was approved.
