President of the United Nations General Assembly bids farewell to Permanent Representative of Cuba.

President of the United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Dennis Francis, met with Ambassador Gerardo Peñalver Portal, first vice minister of Foreign Affairs and permanent representative of Cuba before the United Nations, who concludes his diplomatic mission in New York. During the meeting, both diplomatic authorities discussed issues of relevance to the General Assembly of the multilateral organization.

Secretary General of the United Nations holds exchange with Permanent Representative of Cuba, Gerardo Peñalver Portal.

Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, welcomed, this afternoon,  Ambassador Gerardo Peñalver Portal, first vice minister of Foreign Affairs and permanent representative of Cuba to the United Nations, who concludes his diplomatic mission in New York. During the exchange, held at the UN headquarters, both parties discussed issues of common interest from the multilateral agenda.

The Alliance reiterates its support for the government of the Republic of Cuba as it continues to work for the well-being and security of its kind and resilient people and strongly rejects the permanent hostility, instigation to subversion and interference of the United States against this brotherly Latin American and Caribbean country.

Haiti is facing a serious multidimensional crisis that has worsened social instability, poverty and structural underdevelopment resulting from centuries of colonial and neocolonial pillaging and foreign interventions. The international community is greatly indebted to Haiti, the Caribbean nation that carried out the first independence, anti-slavery and social revolution in the continent.
