Cuba maintains that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals is a priority of the Summit of the Future

Paris, June 2024. Within the framework of the informal interactive exchange held by the members of the UNESCO Executive Board with the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, the Ambassador of Cuba María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro reaffirmed the priority of the Sustainable Development Goals in the context of the Summit of the Future, which will take place next September in New York.

Cuba presents in Latin America and the Caribbean week at UNESCO

Between June 3 and 7, Latin America and the Caribbean Week took place at UNESCO headquarters, a multifaceted and colorful event that focused everyone's attention and participation during those 5 days, becoming a unique space to show the richness and diversity of our culture, art, music, gastronomy and other Latin American and Caribbean expressions.

The Panel “Transforming the future: Women and Girls of Latin America and the Caribbean”, held within the framework of the week of the region at UNESCO, offered an important space to present on the development of sport in Cuba, in particular on the active participation of women and people with disabilities.
