Fidel Castro's inauguration as Prime Minister of Cuba commemorated

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled today that on this date in 1959 the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, assumed the post of Prime Minister, a few weeks after the triumph of the armed struggle.

In his Twitter account, the President said: "The Commander in Chief of the Sierra Maestra signs as Prime Minister on February 16, 1959. The guerrilla leader becomes a statesman and opens the way to the laws expected by the people".

Cuban arms in Kahramanmaras, epicenter of the earthquake in Türkiye

A revolution of humanitarian aid and sensitivity has brought with it the sad reality left in Türkiye and Syria, in the early hours of February 6, by an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 on the Richter scale. Medical forces from various parts of the world, coordinated by the World Health Organization, following the international request for help, have marched in to offer health care and comfort.

López Obrador ratifies movement against blockade of Cuba

The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, ratified today that he will lead an international movement against the blockade of Cuba, which he described as an offense to humanity.

In his press conference at the National Palace, the President said that the US blockade of Cuba is inhumane, a matter that has to do with an ideological burden that nullifies the right of the peoples to act with independence and freedom.

Democratic Socialists in the U.S. demand removal of Cuba from terrorist list

The International Committee of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA IC), through a letter sent to the government of Joe Biden, called for the immediate removal of Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
In the letter, the organization reflected on the misleading excuses used at the time by the Donald Trump administration to include Cuba again on the list.  The document states that the current government of Colombia demands the removal of Cuba from the spurious list.

Mexico and Cuba, a brotherly relationship

The historic relations between Mexico and Cuba, maintained uninterruptedly for the last 120 years, received a new boost with the official visit to that nation of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
