Cuban President denounced damages caused by U.S. blockade
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today condemned the millions of dollars in economic losses suffered by his country as a result of the blockade imposed by the United States more than 60 years ago.
Through his Twitter account, the president cited the most recent report on the effects of the economic, commercial and financial siege on the Caribbean nation, which states that "the accumulated damages in 60 years amount to 144 billion 413.4 million dollars."
"The suffering of the Cuban people cannot be quantified," the president said.
G77 Forum plus China urges consensus for higher education quality
With a call to build regional consensus for educational quality in the post-Covid-19 pandemic context, Cuba's Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velázquez, today opened a forum of ministers from the Group of 77 plus China.
The meeting takes place in a hybrid way during the sessions of the International Congress Pedagogy 2023 and has as central axis of the dialogue the challenges of nations to meet the Sustainable Development Goals in education after the impact on education systems of the crisis caused by the new coronavirus.
U.S. calls for Cuba to be removed from list of sponsors of terrorism
The City Council of the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, demanded the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and the Congress, to remove Cuba from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, where it was unjustly included.
In a letter addressed to the director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, Julie Chávez Rodriguez, the activists recounted how since 1960 Washington imposed an economic, commercial and financial blockade against the neighboring country.
