How little the United States respects the world by maintaining the blockade against Cuba!
The First Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, recalled on Twitter that it has been 30 years since Cuba presented to the UN the detailed report on the crime that the US blockade against the island constitutes.
"The General Assembly condemns it almost unanimously. And the blockade is being strengthened. How little the United States respects the international community. How little it respects the rest of the world", the Head of State pointed out.
Open letter to U.S. Congressional leaders: Let Cuba live!
Digital media today reproduce an open letter addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, Nancy Pelosi, in which they ask to forge a new path in relations with Cuba.
The constituents of the powerful Nancy Pelosi have made their will known: Let Cuba Live!", highlighted Diario Latinoamericano in publishing the letter, signed among others by activist, writer and professor Angela Davis and Shamann Walton, president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
There is no silence in the denunciation against the U.S. blockade.
Just by wielding the universal consensus that, in the United Nations tribune, and for three decades, has expressed the absolute rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government against Cuba, the new voices that constantly add to that demand would seem to defend a reason that has become a truism.
However, so great is the injustice, and so colossal the genocide, that every day more and more people are raising a flag against the hostile and anachronistic policy of the largest empire on the planet.
Defending the Cuban identity is not difficult if it is done with the truth
With the desire to reconnect with his roots, to visit what he considers his home, the outstanding Cuban pianist, Nachito Herrera, went to the Cuban Embassy in the United States, in the framework of the National Culture Day.
The musician thanked for the invitation and said that it was a great pleasure for him to celebrate this day. At the same time, he stressed that from anywhere in the world he feels proud to be Cuban.
Emilio Cueto: Cuban culture is extraordinary.
Celebrating culture from abroad has a greater meaning, because it indicates that one has Cuba very present, even if you are not in the soil of the homeland.
With these words, Cuban American researcher and curator Emilio Cueto, expressed his joy at celebrating this October 20 at the Cuban Embassy in Washington D.C., together with the diplomatic staff of this headquarters and friends of the Island.
