When, at the end of July 2021, the anti-COVID-19 mass immunization began in Cuba, with nationally produced vaccines created by our scientists, the daily positive cases of SARS-COV-2 amounted to 9,000, with thousands of accumulated deaths and more than 40,000 active patients with the virus, in the midst of a complex epidemiological situation that hit Cuban families.

Cuba's Foreign Minister calls for urgent decisions to address climate change

Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, today called for strong decisions to address climate change at the Summit on the subject being held in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh.

In his Twitter account, the Foreign Minister pointed out that "debates and negotiations at COP 27 should lead to substantial decisions to avoid the climate catastrophe we are heading for".

He added that "the contribution of developed countries in accordance with the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities cannot be postponed".

Puentes de Amor delivers donation to hospital in Cuban province

Cuban-American professor and activist Carlos Lazo, leader of the Bridges of Love project, delivered a donation to the Pepe Portilla pediatric hospital in the western province of Pinar del Río, national television reported today.

Here we are those who love and found, said Lazo in his second visit this year to the hospital, accompanied on this occasion by Israel Rojas, director of the Buena Fe duo, and Spanish journalist Ana Hurtado.

Cuba participates in the 22nd Havana Film Festival in New York City

With an extensive program of activities including master classes, retrospectives, round tables, among others, the 22nd edition of the Havana Film Festival is being held in New York City from November 3 to 10. 
The event, which will showcase more than 30 internationally awarded films, becomes a space for the dissemination and awarding of Latin American cinema.  
The cultural event will pay tribute to Pastor Vega with the screening of "Retrato de Teresa" (1979) and "Adiós, Papi" (Aaron Vega Granados, 2021).
