Zimbabwe-Cuba: 45 Years of Brotherhood

Harare, April 20, 2025 - Cuba and Zimbabwe commemorated the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, just two days after the African nation's declaration of independence on April 18, 1980.
The commemoration of this event was the occasion for a cordial meeting between diplomats from the Cuban mission and executives and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Cuba present at the celebration of the 45th anniversary of Zimbabwe's independence

Gokwe, April 18, 2025 - Cuba was present today at the official commemoration of the 45th anniversary of Zimbabwe's independence, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in this town in the Midlands province.
The Head of Mission of the Caribbean nation, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, joined the celebration along with the diplomatic corps.
On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of independence, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla sent congratulatory messages to their Zimbabwean counterparts.

Ambassadors of Cuba and Zimbabwe for the Common Good

Harare, April 15, 2025—The Ambassadors of Cuba, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Perez Mesa, and Zimbabwe, His Excellency Mr. Paul Chikawa, met in Harare with the will and action to promote bilateral relations within the framework of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, this April 20.

   Perez Mesa and Chikawa reviewed ongoing projects and initiatives explored to expand the scope of ties, which maintain their excellent state.

Young zimbabweans benefit from scholarships in Cuba

Harare, April 10, 2025 – This morning, two young Zimbabweans who received scholarships to pursue university studies in Cuba in the fields of Medicine and Higher Education visited the Cuban Embassy in Zimbabwe.

In a meeting with Minister Counselor Luis Enrique González and Second Secretary Zailin Gaulhiac Moráguez, the students learned details about the scholarship awarding process and signed the Code of Ethics for Foreign Students in Cuba.

Cuba defends shared Africa-America future at UN Tourism Summit
