Harare, January 17 - The Pan-African and progressive world mourns the loss of a towering figure in the liberation and development of Zimbabwe and the African continent. Cde Chenhamo “Chen” Chakezha Chimutengwende, a steadfast revolutionary, dedicated statesman, and unyielding advocate for Pan-Africanism, passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 81. His passing leaves a profound void in the global struggle for unity, dignity, and self-determination for African peoples.
Zimbabwean ZICUFA welcomes Cuba's removal from terrorist list
Harare, January 16, 2025 – The Zimbabwe-Cuba Friendship Association (ZICUFA) today reiterated its condemnation of the United States blockade of the Caribbean island, while welcoming its removal from the list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
The United States government announced on January 14 the removal of Cuba from the State Department's list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism, which despite its limited scope, is a decision that points in the right direction, said the ZICUFA statement.

1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism;
2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and
