Embassy of Cuba pays tribute to the Federation of Cuban Women on its aniversary

On the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), the Embassy of Cuba in the United States recognized all the members of that organization for the commendable work they perform.

The meeting was also an opportunity to recognize this organization for its central role in the fight for social inclusion and equality for women, as well as against all forms of female discrimination. The legacy of its founder Vilma Espín Guillois, an example for all Cubans and for generations to come, was especially remembered.

Resolution against US blockade against Cuba presented in New York

A resolution that demands an end to the United States blockade against Cuba was presented in the New York City Council at the initiative of the local solidarity movement with the Caribbean island, it was learned on Friday.

Resolution 8513, which also calls for the elimination of travel bans, was introduced on Thursday by Council Member Charles Barron, from the 42nd District, lawyer and activist Rosemari Mealy confirmed to Prensa Latina via WhatsApp.
