Former Foreign Minister of Grenada, Peter David, appeared on Telesur to voice his support for Cuba and denounce the consequences of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States. In his message, he emphasized that regional solidarity is essential to confront the difficulties faced by the Island and condemned smear campaigns against its historic leaders.
Cuban engineers are taking part in the construction of the new bridge in Balthazar, Saint Andrew, a project with significant political and social relevance, as it has been recently highlighted by Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, in the media.
The works include the demolition of an existing bridge and the installation of a new temporary structure to ensure access for the population during the construction process.
A music concert was recently held at the Trade Center in Saint George as part of the ongoing solidarity campaign with Cuba currently taking place in Grenada. The event aimed to raise funds to support the Island amid the complex situation it is facing.
The Permanent Secretary of Infrastructure of Grenada, Alva Browne, recently welcomed the Ambassador of Cuba to that country, Yadirys Echenique Paz, in a meeting that reaffirmed the commitment of both parties to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this strategic sector.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat conveyed greetings from Cuba’s Minister of Construction (MICONS), René Mesa Villafaña, and highlighted the positive state of cooperation between the two nations in the field of infrastructure.
The Ambassador of Cuba in Grenada, Yadirys Echenique Paz, together with the Cuban Consul in that country, held a meeting with Senator Salim Rahaman, who conveyed his interest in learning about the current situation of the Island and expressed his support for the Cuban cause.
During the exchange, Rahaman emphasized that his commitment to Cuba has family roots, stating: “My father, a great admirer of Cuba, instilled in me from a young age the need to be in solidarity with that nation.”
