Jamaica reaffirms its rejection of the blockade against Cuba

The Head of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica, H.E Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, was received yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica by Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Marcia Gilbert -Roberts.

Kingston, Jamaica, 6 August 2020. The Head of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica, H.E Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, was received yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica by Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Marcia Gilbert -Roberts.

During the meeting, which took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, the officials reviewed the main issues on the bilateral agenda and acknowledged the positive state of relations between the two nations.

Cuban authorities congratulate their Jamaican counterparts on the anniversary of the island’s Independence

The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent congratulatory messages to the Governor General of Jamaica, the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Linton Allen, and to the Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Honourable Michael Andrew Holness, on the occasion of the upcoming 58th anniversary of the Independence of this sister Caribbean island, on August 6th. A similar message was sent by the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, to his Jamaican counterpart, Senator Kamina Johnson-Smit

The Solidarity Movement with Cuba in Jamaica holds a virtual forum to mark the Day of the National Rebellion (+VIDEO)

Despite the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, celebrations marking the Cuban Day of National Rebellion have been held in Jamaica and, adapted to the new situation, the Solidarity Movement with Cuba in this sister Caribbean island hosted a virtual forum under the motto 'The 26th July Movement and its relevance in the fight against the global pandemic', with a broad international participation.

Kingston, Jamaica, 25 July 2020. On Friday July 24 in the afternoon, members of the collective of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica celebrated a political-cultural activity chaired by the Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, Head of the State Mission, and Bernardino Miclín Dupuy, Secretary General of the PCC’s grassroot in the Embassy, to commemorate the 67th Anniversary of the Day of National Rebellion.
