Kingston, Jamaica, 24 January 2021.- The Jamaica Peace Council called on the new US administration to lift the US blockade against Cuba and remove all other sanctions against the Caribbean island.

The demand is posted on the organization's website and also includes other priorities that the new US government must consider to promote world peace and security.

The blockade against Cuba is illegitimate and inhumane, stated a Jamaican Parliamentarian

Anthony Hylton, a Member of the Parliament of Jamaica, reiterated his condemnation of the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States government against Cuba during a meeting with the Cuban ambassador, Inés Fors Fernández. The Jamaican legislator called the blockade an "inhumane, illegitimate policy" and advocated for its immediate lifting.
