Kingston, Jamaica, 1 September 2020. Foreign students’ entry to the Republic of Cuba has been postponed until further notice, due to the current epidemiological situation in our country.

Continuing students should access the websites of their respective universities and faculties, and contact them if necessary, to receive detailed guidance on their academic process and keep working on topics related to subjects pending to be completed during the course.

The Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica participates in local language immersion programme at Training Schools for Spanish Teachers

Yesterday, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica joined other diplomatic delegations of Spanish-speaking nations to support the local immersion program for the training of future Spanish teachers in this Caribbean island.

Kingston, Jamaica, 21 August 2020. Yesterday, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica joined other diplomatic delegations of Spanish-speaking nations to support the local immersion program for the training of future Spanish teachers in this Caribbean island.

The Foreign Language Curriculum for these trainee teachers include language immersion in a Spanish-speaking country and, for those who are unable to travel abroad, the alternative of local immersion. However, the spread of Covid-19 poses a new variant: virtual immersion.

Vice President of the Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica remembers Fidel during the activity dedicated to the 94th Anniversary of his birth.

Kingston, Jamaica, 17 August 2020. The Solidarity Movement with Cuba in Jamaica celebrated this Sunday the 94th Anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz. A combination of creativity and the will to honour the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, was the key to overcoming the physical distancing imposed by Covid-19 and developing a wide, varied, political-cultural activity via Internet, attended by about 20 speakers and marked by the projection of videos about Fidel and his relationship with Jamaica and the performance of prestigious artists.

The wide, varied, virtual activity ̶ of a political and cultural type ̶ was attended by about 20 speakers, and the opportunity was taken to project videos about Fidel and his relationship with Jamaica and to enjoy the performance of prestigious artists.
