The Minister of Health and Wellness of Jamaica, Dr. the Honourable Christopher Tufton, described the support of Cuba and other international partners to his country's fight against the Covid-19 pandemic as invaluable. The statement was made on the occasion of his sectoral presentation to the Parliament, held this Tuesday July 7, speaking on the theme "Public Investment in Public Health: Every One Counts."

The Minister of Education and the Cuban diplomat discussed the state of the cooperation relations existing between the Greatest Island in the Antilles and Jamaica, and assessed new areas of interest for expanding them.

The Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, was received yesterday afternoon at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica by Ambassador Marsha Coore Lobban, Acting Director of the Caribbean and Americas Department, to review the main issues of the bilateral agenda.
The meeting took place in a fraternal, friendly environment, in full observance of physical distancing and protection measures adopted in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
