Kingston, Jamaica, 5 February 2021.- For Dr. Reynel Isalgué Isalgué, Head of the Cuban Education Brigade in Jamaica, the year 2020 posted an unprecedented challenge for teaching as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, which determined the massive closure of face-to-face activities of educational institutions, a reality Jamaica could not escape from.

Kingston, Jamaica, 27 January 2021.- Following the tradition that began at midnight on January 27, 1953, on the advent of the centenary of José Martí's birth, the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica lit the night with torches to honour the most universal of all Cubans on the 168th anniversary of his birth.
The symbolic ceremony was held by the entire group of that diplomatic mission after the call to continue carrying the Master's doctrines in their hearts, and to be consistent with Marti’s and Fidel’s legacy.
Kingston, Jamaica, 27 January 2021.- Dr. the Honourable Christopher Tufton, Jamaica's Minister of Health, praised in this capital the advances Cuba has made in research and clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccine candidates, and made public the interest of the Jamaican government in acquiring the Cuban vaccine as soon as it is available.
This was expressed in a press conference offered by the health minister, who also alluded to the possible acquisition of vaccines from other countries.
Kingston, Jamaica, 26 January 2021.- Phillip Paulwell, a member of the Parliament of Jamaica and President of the People's National Party (PNP), had a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba in that Caribbean nation, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.
The Jamaican legislator and the Cuban diplomat discussed issues of bilateral, regional and international interest, with emphasis on the economic and health impact of the complex international epidemiological situation.
