Kingston, Jamaica, 26 February 2019. Ms. Olayinka Jacobs-Bonnick, Director of the British Council Caribbean introduced the Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, to the two young men who will attend, on behalf of the Caribbean island, the VI edition of the Havana World Festival Music, to be held in Havana, between March 21 and 23 this year.
The young men study at the Alpha Institute, a Jamaican institution specializing in artistic education, and are part of the Backstage to the Future program sponsored by the British Council.

The Jamaica Peace Council denounces the Trump Administration’s recent sanctions, freezing of assets, acts of provocation and military aggression against the people of Venezuela. These actions are in alarming violation of international law and the fundamental principles of human rights and national sovereignty.

In a cordial atmosphere, the Cuban diplomat and the experienced Jamaican political leader acknowledged the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Jamaica and exchanged on various topics of regional and international interest.
