Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Floyd Green, is leading a Jamaican delegation at the 16th ExpoCaribe International Trade Fair.

The team left for Cuba yesterday for the four-day trade fair, with a mission to take full advantage of the opportunities for business, trade, and investment between Jamaica and Cuba.

In a simple but moving activity presided over by the Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, a group of more than fifty Cubans living in Jamaica, members of the Cuban State Mission and Jamaican nationals who are solidary with Cuba, met before the bust of the Titan of Bronze located in the National Heroes Park of this capital to pay tribute to three great figures of our history: the Mother of the Nation, Mariana Grajales Coello; the Lieutenant General of the Liberation Army, Antonio Maceo Grajales, and the Heroic Guerrilla, Commander Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.

Kingston, Jamaica, 12 June 2019. This Wednesday in the afternoon, Cuban Ambassador H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández received Mr. Lloyd Distant Jr., President of the Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica.

At the meeting, Mr. Distant explained the structure, characteristics and functions of his institution, as well as its relationship with the Chambers of Commerce of the different parishes of Jamaica and other Caribbean islands.

Cuba reinforces its ties with the Caribbean

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, tours several sister nations of the Caribbean. The tour began on Tuesday and will last until June 18, taking him to Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, Guyana and Barbados. Within the framework of his Caribbean tour, Mr. Rodriguez will participate in the Sixth Meeting of CARICOM-Cuba Foreign Ministers to be held in Guyana on June 14.

Kingston, Jamaica, 31 May 2019. The Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica hosted the awarding ceremony for the scholarships offered each year by the Cuban Government to young Jamaicans, to pursue medical studies in the Largest Island of the Antilles.

Neither the rain nor the heavy traffic on Friday in Kingston could frustrate the celebration, chaired by the Ambassador of Cuba Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, and attended by representatives of the Jamaican Government and civil society organizations, the awardees and their relatives.
