Attorney General of Jamaica holds meeting with Cuban Ambassador

Kingston, Jamaica, 6 February 2019. Cuban Ambassador in Jamaica, H.E. Mrs. Ines Fors Fernandez, paid a call of courtesy on Attorney General of Jamaica, Mrs. Marlene Malahoo Forte this afternoon.

During the exchange, the Cuban Ambassador thanked the Attorney General for the presentation to the Jamaican Parliament, last October, of a motion condemning the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, an initiative that the Jamaican Parliament has signed for ten consecutive years.

Kingston, Jamaica, 6 February 2019. H.E. Mrs. Ines Fors Fernandez, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica, paid a call of courtesy on the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, at the Ministry’s headquarters this morning.

At the meeting with the Jamaican Minister, several topics of common interest were discussed, such as the project to build the Regional School of Arts of the Caribbean in Jamaica, an initiative developed during the Fifth Cuba-CARICOM Summit, held in Havana on December 8, 2014.

Kingston, Jamaica, 1 February 2019. Last night, the Embassy of Cuba held a reception for the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution. Representatives of the Government of Jamaica, the Parliament, the political parties, the diplomatic and consular corps, international organizations, the academic sector, the solidarity movement and the Cuban community residing in the country were present in the event.

Kingston, Jamaica, 29 January 2018. The Minister of Health of Jamaica, Hon. Dr. Christopher Tufton, expressed his grief and the condolences of his government for the consequences of the tornado that struck Havana last Sunday January 27th, in a letter sent to the Cuban Ambassador.

He also stated the commitment of Jamaica to help in any way possible to alleviate the impact of this natural disaster.

Kingston, Jamaica, 28 January 2019. Today at 6 o'clock in the afternoon, a brief but heartfelt ceremony was held at the Cuban Embassy in Jamaica to commemorate the 166th anniversary of the birth of Cuban National Hero, José Martí.

The ceremony was chaired by Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, and was attended by members of the State Mission of Cuba, Cubans living in Jamaica and friends from the Jamaica-Cuba solidarity movement.
