Governor-General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines receives Ambassador of Cuba.

Kingstown, February 25, 2026 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Stanley K. John, KC.

During the cordial meeting, both authorities addressed various issues related to the current state of bilateral relations between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, highlighting the historic ties of friendship, cooperation and mutual respect that characterize the ties between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on elements of the international and regional situation, in a context marked by complex economic, social and geopolitical challenges. In this context, they agreed on the importance of strengthening cooperation between the nations of the Caribbean and Latin America, as well as promoting dialogue, peace and respect for sovereignty.

Kingstown, 20 February 2026 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, visited the Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries, Honourable Kaschaka Cupid, where both sides reaffirmed their interest in promoting bilateral cooperation ties in areas of common interest.

During the meeting, concrete possibilities of collaboration in the sports field were explored, with special emphasis on the development of Athletics. The Ambassador highlighted Cuba’s recognized experience in training athletes and coaches, as well as his country’s willingness to share knowledge and good practices aimed at contributing to the development of this and other sports in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

During the exchange, the minister highlighted the deep historical ties that unite the two peoples and recalled with special gratitude his stage of academic training in Cuba, an experience that - according to him - positively marked his professional and personal life and allowed him to see firsthand the island’s commitment to education and international solidarity.

Kingstown, February 17, 2026 - The ambassador of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, participated in the program "Voices" of WE FM 99.9, where he offered a comprehensive intervention on the current situation of the island, among other topics.

During the interview, the diplomat denounced recent measures taken by President Donald Trump’s administration to further intensify the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
