Vincentians benefit from Cuban Expertise in Hospitality & Tourism.

Kingstown, August 29, 2025 — The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, in partnership with the Republic of Cuba, held on Thursday the closing ceremony of the Hospitality Technical Mission at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Diamond.

The event marked the successful conclusion of three weeks of practical training delivered by eight Cuban hospitality specialists to Vincentian teachers, instructors, and professionals in the sector.

Aug. 13, 2025, marks the 99th anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, whose vision and political steadfastness shaped not only the destiny of Cuba but also left an indelible mark on the wider Caribbean.

Fidel Castro’s life was intertwined with the struggles and aspirations of small island states seeking sovereignty, dignity, and development in the face of global challenges.

Group of Cuban experts in Tourism arrived in SVG.

Kingstown, August 4, 2025 - As part of the strengthening of cooperation links between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a group of Cuban specialists arrived in this capital to start an important joint project in the area of tourism, as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in 2023.

The initiative envisages the presence, for one month, of a Cuban technical mission composed of eight experts in various areas of the tourism sector. Its main objective will be to support the capacity building programs of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines through workshops, technical exchanges and expert advice. Through this effort, experiences and good practices that have been key in the tourism development of Cuba will be shared.

Cuba grants new scholarships to Vincentian students.

Kingstown, June 13, 2025 - A humble but emotional awarding ceremony scholarships to 10 Vincentian students, granted by the Cuban government, was held at the headquarters of the Cuban embassy in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Before representatives of the Government Services Commission of this sister nation and the students relatives, the students received all the documentation that makes them ready to travel to Cuba and begin the new academic stage in specialties such as Medicine, Biology and nursing.

The Cuban ambassador, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, pointed out that despite Cuba’s current economic difficulties, the firm will to continue helping sister nations like Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has not changed.

President of the SVG Teachers’ Credit Union received Cuban Ambassador.

Kingstown, 2 de junio de 2025 — In an atmosphere of cordiality and mutual respect, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, held a fruitful meeting with Mr. Nathaniel Williams, President of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union (SVGTU).

During the meeting, both parties discussed the historic ties of solidarity and cooperation between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with a special focus on the field of education. Ambassador Rodríguez Etcheverry reiterated the Cuban Government’s commitment to continue supporting the training of Vincentian professionals through its scholarship program, as well as through the presence of Cuban educational collaborators in the country.

Mr. Williams expressed his appreciation to the people and Government of Cuba for their valuable support in the educational development of the nation. He also highlighted the positive impact of Cuban educators in Vincentian communities
