Joint statement by communist and anti-imperialist youth organizations
Following its imperialist intervention in Venezuela, the Trump administration is intensifying its aggression against Cuba with renewed audacity, resorting to absurd arguments and claims. In this context, it is planning a new operation to economically and commercially suffocate the island of the revolution by imposing tariffs and sanctions on states that supply Cuba with oil and other vital goods, and even considering the possibility of a “maritime blockade” of Cuba.
Far from isolating Cuba, Donald Trump's recent executive order has triggered a political response in the heart of Europe. Political organizations, trade unions, and friendship associations in Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia have broken through the media blockade to issue a clear warning: the economic war against Havana is illegal and must end.
Austria: Wide-ranging solidarity
Vienna, February 5. The statement delves into a class analysis of the confrontation, going beyond immediate condemnation to frame it within the historical struggle against imperialism.
