Vienna, September 14—The Minister of Science, Technology, and the Environment of the Republic of Cuba, Dr. Armando Rodríguez Batista, arrived in Vienna to lead the Cuban delegation participating in the 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is being held September 14–18 at the Vienna International Centre.
Vienna, September 10—Cuba’s ambassador to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, denounced in the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) the intensification of the U.S. blockade and the energy blockade, including their impact on the survival of cancer patients, especially children.

In an atmosphere of camaraderie and as part of the centennial celebrations for Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the diplomatic missions of Cuba, Vietnam, and Laos to Austria held a trilateral working meeting, where they reaffirmed the excellent ties between the three countries, their peoples, governments, and political parties. The joint participation of the three diplomatic missions facilitated a more fruitful exchange and greater engagement with the issues discussed.
Vienna, August 16, 2026 – As part of the tributes in Austria marking the 100th anniversary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, a special bottling of wine was unveiled as part of the “100 Years with Fidel” initiative, spearheaded by winemakers who are members of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) in the Burgenland region.
Vienna, August 15, 2026 – The screening of the documentary “Anecdotes of Fidel,” by renowned American filmmaker Estela Bravo, was part of the tribute to the Commander-in-Chief organized by the Cuban Embassy in Austria as part of the activities marking the centennial of his birth. The event brought together representatives from various Austrian political parties and organizations, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Vienna, members of the Cuban community residing in Austria, and staff from the Cuban diplomatic mission.
