Cuba and Egypt reaffirm willingness to develop cooperation in the field of health and drug production

Cairo, August 4, 2025. Cuban Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, was received this afternoon, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Population, by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the depth and strength of the historical relations between Egypt and Cuba, noting that the cultural and human ties between the two countries constitute a solid basis for developing cooperation in various fields, especially in the health sector. He expressed his desire to strengthen strategic alliances that benefit the interests of both friendly peoples.

Egyptian newspaper denounces U.S. measures against Cuban president

Cairo, July 21, 2025. The Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram Gate criticized today the decision of the United States to impose sanctions against the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and the blockade imposed by Washington against the island for more than six decades.

The measures adopted against the president and other Cuban officials represent a violation of the basic norms and conventions of coexistence among nations and a disregard for the Caribbean and Latin America, affirmed journalist Kamal Gaballa.

Cuban President and Foreign Minister congratulate Egyptian counterparts on National Holiday

Cairo, July 23, 2025. In a letter addressed to the President of Egypt, H.E. Mr. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez sent warm congratulations to the Egyptian government and people on the occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of the Revolution of the Arab Republic of Egypt, National Day of the Nation.

Likewise, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla congratulated his Egyptian counterpart H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty on the occasion.

Cuban Foreign Minister receives Egyptian candidate for the post of UNESCO Director-General

Cairo, June 18, 2025. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, received at the Foreign Ministry headquarters Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Egyptian candidate for the post of Director-General of UNESCO for the period 2025-2029.

The Head of Cuban diplomacy thanked the visitor for the opportunity to learn more about his agenda and projections in the work of the Organization and reiterated Cuba's commitment to UNESCO's mandate, in particular the promotion of peace and solidarity. (Embacuba Egipto)
