Cuban Ambassador Pedro Luis Despaigne González, the First Secretary of the Embassy, Julio César Sánchez, and Mr. Kwasi Owusu-Achaw, a Ghanaian optometrist and journalist graduated in Cuba, appeared before the live television program, Breakfast Show, in which they addressed different facets linked to the 60th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent congratulations to the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E, Mr. Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo, on the occasion of the arrival of the 60th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Ghana and Cuba.
In the same vein, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mrs. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
Cuba and Ghana established diplomatic relations on 23rd December, 1959.
The VI Iberoamerican Film Festival in Ghana was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, who was accompanied at the ceremony by the Ambassadors of: Mexico, Spain, Brazil, and Colombia, Mrs. María de los Ángeles Arriola Aguirre, Mrs. Alicia Rico Pérez del Pulgar, Mrs. Maria Teófilo de Luna, Mrs. Claudia Turbay Quintero, respectively, and the Chargé d’Affaires of Peru, Mr. Miguel Ramírez Moscoso.
