Cuba decries at Unesco impact of blockade on Covid-19 fight

Paris, Jun 8.- Cuba denounced on Monday at the sixth extraordinary session of Unesco's Executive Board the obstacle that the United States blockade represents to its efforts to deal with the Covid-19.

The pandemic highlights the enormous restrictions imposed by the United States with its economic, commercial and financial siege, which constitutes the main obstacle to access to the necessary medicines, materials and health equipment, said Oscar Leon, the island's representative to the Council, at the virtual forum.

Cuba reports 6 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours

Havana, June 10 (RHC)-- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported that there were 6 new cases of COVID-19, for an total of 2,211 positive cases across the island.

During his daily press briefing held Wednesday morning, Dr. Duran said that over the past 24 hours -- up to 12 midnight Tuesday night -- fortunately, no patients died from the coronavirus.

Lima, 8 jun.-  El gobernador de la región peruana de Moquegua, Zenón Cuevas, destacó el internacionalismo humanitario de los médicos cubanos, al presentar oficialmente a una brigada que llegó a sumarse a la lucha contra la Covid-19.

Cueva destacó la presencia de los profesionales cubanos de la salud y su vocación de servicio a la humanidad, cuando Perú y Moquegua enfrentan una pandemia que está cobrando muchas víctimas y creando zozobra, estrés y frustración en el país.
