The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in India commemorated the seventh anniversary of the passing away of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
The National Folkloric Ensemble of Cuba, which is visiting India, performed at the Bahai House of Worship auditorium at the Lotus Temple in New Delhi. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in India in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Lotus Temple. The show titled "The Root and the Time", included different songs and dances representative of the tradition and cultural richness of the Cuban nation, dances referring to Yemayá, Elegbá, Ogún, as well as sones, boleros, rumbas, mambo, casino and conga.
